BEACHWOOD, OH — A pop-up event at Beachwood Place will offer free protective equipment and COVID-19 educational materials.
The pop-up will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Health officials will be located in Center Court, near the main entrance between Sak's and Dillard's.
While they're on-site, the pop-up will offer free personal protective equipment to shoppers. There will also be educational materials and safety information related to the virus.
There will not be any COVID-19 testing at the event, a board of health spokesperson told Patch.
"The board of health will be distributing cloth face coverings, COVID-19 prevention materials, and offering select giveaways," a Beachwood Place spokesperson said. "Destination Cleveland has also donated CLEAN COMMITTED packets. Each packet includes hand sanitizer, a face covering, and information about responsibly exploring the region."
Ohio is in the midst of a renewed COVID-19 surge. On Wednesday, health officials confirmed 2,039 new COVID-19 cases among Ohioans. That's a single-day record, according to Ohio Department of Health data.
Ohio also recently crossed a tragic milestone, with 5,000 residents dying because of COVID-19.
