California prisons have been closed to in-person visits since mid-March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation says it had 283 cases COVID-19 last month, its lowest number since April, but those numbers are on the rise as they are in the rest of the state. There are currently 1,975 cases of COVID-19 across California's prison system. Read more at CBS Los Angeles
