BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood P.F. Chang's may layoff a significant chunk of its staff. The restaurant chain filed a notice with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, warning of possible layoffs. In the notice, the company said COVID-19 and the resulting health restrictions had a negative impact on the business. In Beachwood, 35 employees will be impacted by P.F. Chang's decision. The restaurant chain announced similar layoffs at other restaurants around Ohio, with nearly 300 employees impacted overall. Since March, P.F. Chang's staff has seen their hours cut by 50 percent or more, according to the restaurant's letter to the state. The company now believes the COVID-19 restrictions implemented in Ohio could extend through part of 2021. "The reduction of work hours at this location are the unfortunate result of sudden, unexpected COVID-19-related circumstances that were conditions outside of the Company's control and for which the continued duration is still unknown," a P.F. Chang's official said in the letter to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. The staff at P.F. Chang's in other cities will also be impacted, including restaurants in Dayton, Cincinnati, West Chester, Maumee, Akron, Dublin and Columbus.
