This 100-yard dash of beds on wheels is a fun-filled community event that highlights what families without housing go through.
Join Family Promise of Gainesville at the 8th Annual Bed Race to End Childhood Homelessness! This year’s race takes place on Saturday, February 26 at Trinity United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to noon and is free to attend.
Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe will serve as a guest judge for this 100-yard dash of beds on wheels and award teams with trophies for categories like fastest time and best bed design and construction.
Come cheer on the 14 teams who are racing, watch the Parade of Beds, and compete in games like pancake flipping, bed making and photo contests. There will be face painting and lots of great raffles and prizes from local businesses.
Family Promise of Gainesville is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides shelter, meals and case management to homeless children and their families in our community. To donate or for more information visit https://www.givegab.com/campaigns/bedrace2022.
