Description

Walk at a quick pace with other fast walkers around the YMCA neighborhoods. It's a great way to end the workday and have fun conversations! Join our Walking Moai. A moai is a group of like-minded people who gather for a similar purpose - like walking! At the initial walk on March 29, we will meet all the walkers and ask for a volunteer leader/s from the group. The group will walk together for 10 weeks, once a week. We will always meet in front of the YMCA. Don't worry if you can't make every week, just try to walk at least 6 times. This group will walk between .5 - 1 mile at a gentle pace. If this is too slow for you, there are other walking moai opportunities at a quicker pace. We'll find the right fit for you! After your 10 weeks of walks, we will have a celebration for your team! Don't worry, you don't have to stop walking after the 10 weeks are over. You can stay together or join another moai if you like. Get to know new friends and neighbors, be held accountable to get out of the house, and start walking with us today! Explore the habits that help people live longer, better with Blue Zones Project. Join us for free, community-wide events, where you’ll learn about Blue Zones Project and how it is helping Walla Walla Valley residents connect, eat wisely, move naturally, and adopt the right outlook. Blue Zones Project helps communities across the country make the healthy choice the easy choice, and this month, we’re organizing dozens of opportunities for local residents to learn more, get moving and connect with each other and Blue Zones Project – both virtually and in-person.
