This Temple Beth Elohim community remains a steady and sustaining source for these essentials. As I scroll through the myriad TBE communications over the past two years, I see evidence of our community’s optimism, ingenuity, and our nimble response to what is. Our community’s response is not inevitable, it requires TBE staff and members to collaborate in re-designing, re-inventing, and re-envisioning so that we remain connected, discover sources of comfort and joy, and sustain our community through turbulence and uncertainty. It is with this Jewish optimism and our command to create joy, that we are again planning a community event to honor our dear Cantor Sufrin, in recognition of Jodi’s retirement and to celebrate the strength and vibrancy of our TBE community. We thank all of you who purchased tickets and sponsorship opportunities in anticipation of Jodi’s May 2020 Celebration. These generous gifts were essential to address TBE’s 2020 financial needs. The funds we raise this season will support and grow The TBE Fund, an annual necessity to sustain TBE’s Jewish learning programs, Tikkun Olam initiatives, worship observances, inspirational music, and caring connections, all so deeply important to Jodi. Additionally, The TBE Fund strengthens our security and technology needs and ensures that all have access to our community regardless of their finances. We hope you will join us, virtually or in-person in May.
