Description

This year's event will be held outdoors again in Rodeo Flats, Friday May 20th. This Event is brought to you by Redding Rodeo Assoc. Auxiliary. It is a 21 & over, women’s only Breast Cancer Fundraiser and rodeo educational experience, where you get to be a Cowgirl for a Day! We are excited to have the lovely Linda Bott of Free Fire Radio join us again this year to emcee our 10th Annual Chicks N Chaps event. We are also delighted to announce that Dr. Geoffrey D. Osgood II, will be joining us as our guest speaker. Dr. Osgood is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist at GenesisCare here in Redding. We will again be having our Silent and Live Auctions, as well as other Fun activities! If you plan to participate in the Rodeo Clinic, please wear your jeans and boots, they are a MUST to be allowed into the arena. Redding Rodeo Auxiliary was founded in the 1950’s to be the helping hands for the Redding Rodeo Assn. We are the gals behind the scenes aka the Ladies Behind the Redshirts. Our role in Redding Rodeo is not limited to just helping the men’s group. We also help in the community a couple of ways! Our Helping Hands committee anonymously helps those in need. Be it a fire, flood or just a rough patch when someone needs help with an electric bill or shoes for their kids, Helping Hands will be there to assist! And shhhh!! It’s always kept anonymous!! The Auxiliary is also responsible for putting on Chicks n Chaps. It’s held annually on our Tough Enough to Wear Pink day (generally Friday) of Rodeo Week. Chicks n Chaps has raised thousands of dollars for local cancer non profits to help patients with day to day expenses... gas for the car, grocery money, maybe housekeeping while the patient is undergoing treatment and educational information. The money raised stays here in our great North State and the non profits we donate to are amazing in distributing the funds. Thanks for taking a minute to learn about the Redding Rodeo Association Auxiliary, the RRAA... the Ladies Behind the Redshirts
