Description

Check out our Pioneer School Program Families with home schooled children ages 5-10 are invited to participate in our highly popular Pioneer School Program. Students will enjoy planting seeds, churning butter, visiting an 1830s house, and learning in a one-room school house. The short, interactive sessions are designed to meet the state history standards for 2nd graders, but siblings are welcome. Cost is $5 per student. All students are welcome, they do not have to be home schooled. The date is during Spring Break for most local districts. Students must be accompanied by an adult. The program will take place at 915 S. Brady Street, Dearborn, MI 48124. Parking is available on site. Please check in by 9:15 AM. The program will begin at 9:30 AM and end by 11:30 AM. Some activities will take place outside, weather permitting, so please dress for the weather. We do not have any food options on site, but we have many picnic tables outside if you'd like to bring a lunch. Our property is also adjacent to the paved Rouge Gateway Trailhead which leads back to Fairlane Estate and into Rouge Park. We are within walking distance from Ford Field Park. Managing three historic buildings, The Dearborn Historical Museum was founded in 1950 to preserve the history of Dearborn and its citizens.
