Description
Press release from the Town of Dedham: 02/17/2022 1:30 PM The Town of Dedham is developing a vision for the access and use of lands adjacent to the Charles River, Providence Highway and VFW Parkway. The Town wishes to use this land for recreation and feels this is an excellent opportunity to connect Town park's via a greenway. Prior to this effort, the Town along with several teaming partners recently completed an Action Plan for the VFW Parkway Providence Highway Corridor aimed at improving pedestrian and bicycle movement along the corridor. This Study would build off that Action Plan by envisioning a greenway along the corridor and tying into the Action Plan's proposed improvements. Over the course of this 6-month process, Town staff and the consultant team, BL Companies, will work with the community to develop a conceptual plan for recreation. The first public meeting will solicit input from the community on the needs and desires for the recreational use of the corridor. The second public meeting will be a consensus-building session where participants will be provided an opportunity to weigh in on the draft preferred concept plan. Ready to learn more and interact with this process? Make sure to register for the upcoming Virtual Informational Meeting, on Tuesday, March 8 at 7pm (Click on the flyer above to enlarge), designed to gather information and solicit input from the community on the needs and desires for the recreational use of the corridor by visiting the project page.
