MIDDLETOWN, CT — Five people were hospitalized after a two-car crash Thursday night in Middletown, according to police.
Emergency crews responded to the crash around 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of South Main Street and Brush Hill Road.
Police said the South District Fire Department and two ambulance services (Hunters and Cromwell) responded and treated the occupants. Two people were taken to Hartford Hospital and three others were taken to Middlesex Hospital, according to police.
All five have either been released or remain in stable condition, police said in an update on Friday.
Police said a preliminary investigation suggests that a 2013 Nissan Rogue was traveling east on Brush Hill Road and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of South Main Street. A second vehicle, a 2019 Toyota Corolla, was traveling north on South Main Street and struck the front passenger side of the Nissan, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Peter Botsacos at 860-638-4061.
