PARAMUS, NJ — The Paramus Board of Education approved the 2022-2023 calendar on Monday during a school board meeting, which includes four new religious and cultural holidays.
For the first time, Paramus Schools will now be closed on Diwali, Eid, al-Fitr, Juneteenth and Lunar New Year in the upcoming school years.
"At Monday's Board of Education meeting, we were proud to adopt a new, more inclusive district calendar incorporating essential and diverse holidays," said a statement from Paramus Public Schools. "Thanks to all the students and community members who spoke on behalf of this forward-looking change."
