Description

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Beacon Hill Road and then Mount Lebanon Road were each partially shut down on Friday because of downed wires, according to the Washington Township Police Department. The police department first alerted drivers about the closure of Beacon Hill Road between Sierra Drive and Turtleback Road at about 12:45 p.m. The road reopened at 3:16 p.m. The second closure of Mount Lebanon Road — blocked off on the Lebanon Township side of Pleasant Grove Road — was at about 1:40 p.m., again from downed wires, the police department reported. Drivers have been told to take alternate routes, police said. Approximately 244 Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) customers were out in Washington Township at 2:26 p.m, when there were about 660 customers countywide without power, the utility reported. There were 346 out at 1:20 p.m, with about 1,000 outages in Morris County, according to the utility's outage map. Restoration times have been unknown because of severe weather, the utility posted on its website. This is a developing story. Patch will provide more information when available.
