MARYLAND — Patch asks Maryland readers to share their best pictures each week. This week's top photos include plenty of nature shots. There's also a touching family moment. Praveena Bhairraju submitted the first picture of a female cardinal enjoying some seeds from the bird feeder. This photo was captured on Bhairraju's deck in Jessup. Courtesy of Praveena Bhairraju Mary Stewart sent the next snapshot of her grandson, André, meeting his 2.5-pound sister, Chloé, for the first time. Stewart took the picture in 2014 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Chloé is now 7 years old, and André is 10. They are both doing great! Courtesy of Mary StewartPeggy Weygandt sent in this photo of a squirrel munching on a flower in her backyard. She calls him Rocky the squirrel. Courtesy of Peggy Weygandt Heather Leutner emailed us this masterpiece from the observation trail at Edgmere's North Point State Park. Courtesy of Heather Leutner Kim Sorensen shared the final picture of this red-bellied woodpecker outside her Havre de Grace home. "Summer can't come soon enough!" Sorenson said. Courtesy of Kim Sorensen That's all for this week's round-up. Keep an eye out for next week's photo gallery. To participate, email your best picture to [email protected] with the subject line "Photo Of The Week." Don't forget to mention where you snapped the photo and tell us what's in the picture. Please only submit photos that you took personally. Horizontal pictures are preferred. Photos are due every Thursday at noon. We will post a story with a few of our favorites each Monday morning. The next photo round-up will go out on Monday, Feb. 28. Good luck!
