EXETER, NH — Two missing Exeter teens have been located after being involved in a motor vehicle accident in Indiana on Friday.
Jonathan Wood, 15, and Jenna Smith, 14, have been missing since Feb. 11, after they disappeared from New Hampshire in a Honda CR-V that belonged to a family member. Exeter Police Chief Stephan Poulin said police were concerned for their safety and reached out to the public for help on several occasions to try to locate them and bring them home.
The pair were found around 1:30 p.m. after a crash on Route 231 in Greencastle, Indiana. He said the missing CR-V was the vehicle involved during the Putnam County crash. The teenagers are being held by sheriffs until they can be picked up by their parents, he said.
"This has been a very difficult time for their family and friends," Poulin said, "and we're thankful they were located and no one was injured in the accident that occurred earlier today in Indiana."
Poulin thanked the many people who contacted the police department to share tips and other information during the multi-day search effort.
