Description

CONCORD, NH — Blustery winds, more like March than February, are causing power outages, as trees and limbs fell on power lines and knocked out electricity around Concord and the capital region on Friday. Unitil is reporting 335 customers in Concord, Bow, and Canterbury without power. The Concord outage appears to be a report of wires down on Hall Street near the Concord city-Bow town line. Concord fire and rescue teams are at the scene. Concord police are reporting traffic lights out on Water Street in the area of the interchange with Exit 13 on Interstate 93. The company estimates that power will be back on sometime between 10 a.m. and noon. Canterbury is a separate outage. Restoration is expected around 9:30 a.m. Eversource is also reporting a few hundred customers around the capital region without power. Hopkinton fire forestry units are also on South Road dealing with a tree down on wires. Eversource is reporting 114 customers without power but it is unknown if those customers were connected to the South Road incident. Weare has 177 customers without power while Dunbarton has 85 customers that are out. Restoration times are unknown at post time. Eversource has around 2,900 customers without power around the state. Concord NH Patch will update this post when more information becomes available. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
