Description
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man stole an Amazon truck in South Los Angeles Thursday and plowed into three pedestrians, killing one of them, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police received a report of a stolen Amazon truck at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday near Woodlawn Avenue and 41st Place by the Gilbert Lindsay Recreation Center. According to the LAPD, the suspect crashed the truck in the area of East 48th Street and South Main Street, injuring three pedestrians.
After the crash, the suspect attempted to flee, but he was arrested soon after, according to the LAPD.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The man's name was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin, but authorities said he was in his 60s.
The two other pedestrians suffered minor injuries in the crash.
No further details were immediately released.
