MAPLE GROVE, MN — The number of Maple Grove schools on the COVID-19 outbreak list remained at eight this week, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Oak View Elementary, Rice Lake Elementary and Heritage Christian Academy were added to the list last week, joining Fernbrook, Rush Creek and Weaver Lake elementary schools, Maple Grove Middle School and Maple Grove Senior High. All eight schools were again included on Thursday's list, while no new schools were added. The COVID-19 data dashboard for Osseo Area Schools shows there have been 3,347 coronavirus cases among students since Sept. 7, including 89 new cases from Feb. 8-14. Osseo Area School's districtwide mask mandate is set to expire Friday, with administration officials to decide whether to continue requiring face coverings at each school based on case rates and absences. District officials said they will tell students, families and staff about any changes to the masking requirements at their schools on Fridays, starting Feb. 18. Any changes would take effect the following Monday. Maple Grove Native Signs For Minnesota Aurora FC Students must continue to wear masks on public transportation until at least March 16. There were 103 Hennepin County schools on Thursday's list, four fewer than last week. The total number of Minnesota schools on the list grew from 598 last week to 609 on Thursday.
