BENICIA, CA — The Benicia City Council voted Tuesday to lift the city's COVID-related indoor mask mandate.
As of Wednesday, the city's guidance related to face masks is in line with current Solano County Public Health and California Department of Public Health requirements, meaning vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks in most indoor public settings.
Unvaccinated people 2 and older are required to mask up in all indoor settings, and everyone, even those who are vaccinated, must wear masks in certain settings, including K-12 schools, child care settings, health care facilities, mass transportation, jails, long-term care facilities and when risks are high.
Businesses may continue to require customers to wear masks and community members are free to continue wearing masks if they choose to do so, the city of Benicia said in an email statement.
More information about current state and county face mask requirements is posted to the California Department of Public Health's website.
