LONG ISLAND, NY — Grabbing hold of the "Wordle" craze, a Long Island-themed version of the popular puzzle is now available. The customized, free-to-play game is available on LongIslandle.com. Each weekday, players can guess the new five-letter mystery word. Tourism organization Discover Long Island is behind the puzzle and website. Making it more interactive, players can submit relevant words on the website or direct messaging @DiscoverLongIsland on Instagram. Discover Long Island says they will give prizes for those words chosen. Just like the puzzle sensation Wordle, LongIslandle requires players to guess the five-letter word within six tries. The color of the tiles changes based on the location of the selected letter. "Our team keeps a keen eye on the latest trends to keep Long Island top of mind for local, national and global visitors and 'LongIslandle' is the latest example of that out-of-the-box thinking," Kristen Jarnagin Reynolds, President and CEO of Discover Long Island, said.
