Help me get a Chemistry degree

I loved chem since childhood but I was too unfocused then to complete a degree. I ended up with liberal arts and now I feel adrift. The only time I feel engaged or intellectually gifted is when I'm reading or talking about chemistry. I want a bachelor's in chem without paying thousands in tuition. Can you help me? Barter possibly, or free universities somewhere? I know Vietnam used to dole out free degrees in Marxism-Leninism, is there somewhere in the word looking for chemists?
