30's guitarist/songwriter looking for drummer, local bandmates

30's guitarist/vocalist/songwriter in search of other players in the area (especially a drummer) to collaborate on original material as well as some covers. I am looking for local musicians who would be able to rehearse on a weekly basis to build a tight set and start getting gigs. I have about 10-12 workable songs with lyrics and would love to write new music in a group setting as well. I have been playing for 22 years and have a minor in applied music. Influences range from classic rock to punk and 00s - Stones, Doors, Zep, Velvet Underground, Thin Lizzy, Stooges, MC5, Replacements, Television, Strokes and Arctic Monkeys to name a few. Always open to new sounds and suggestions. I have a good network in Union and Hudson county, Manhattan and Brooklyn to get gigs at bars, breweries and outdoor venues. I would like to get a committed group together to build chemistry, play some shows and hopefully record something a little more professional. I have a full time job but gigging a few times a month with weekly evening/weekend practices is doable and, to me, ideal for band growth.
