Rehoming of pets

Why do people think they can get hundreds of dollars for a pet they no longer want? You had it for 5,6,8 years and now for whatever reason you think you can sell your dog for $400 to $600? I see these ads all the time and when I ask the "rehome fee" its some crazy number. You dont want the animals anymore and you expect people to pay top dollar for your several years old dog? Same can be said of those rehoming puppies for 2 thousand...... Not sure thats what a rehoming fee means. You are selling animals for profit not rehoming....... Sad...
