We are currently seeking an experienced Aerial/Underground Construction Lead Lineman. Tri-State Communications is a well-established and growing company in the telecommunications industry. This position is responsible for performing diversified work related to the new construction and maintenance of the network. This position supports the Tri-State Team and works with all departments to construct and deploy all-fiber and coax facilities throughout residential and commercial communities. Job Summary: The role of a Lead Lineman is a specialty trained employee who has expertise in the construction and repair of overhead plant or RF/Fiber lines. The Lead Lineman will lead a field crew of aerial and underground field personnel to complete jobs as directed by their Construction Supervisor and Engineers. The Lead Lineman also has extensive training in specialty equipment to service these overhead and underground projects. A Lead Lineman will also have an extensive and practical knowledge of the RF and Fiber network makeup, its operation and network assets for troubleshooting and repair as well as new construction. Pre- Employment Requirements: Employees will need to pass a pre-employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening. A valid driver's license is required, and a Motor Vehicle Report will be performed. Must be able to perform near power lines and electricity. Must be able to be outdoors with all aspects of nature to include a variety of insects and plants. Must be able to be exposed to dirt, dust, noise, cleaning solutions, and pets. Must maintain below the maximum weight limitations of the equipment for safety. Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder multiple times daily. Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner for which Customers can understand and find courteous and professional. Must be able to lift 50-80 pound throughout the day. Must be able to enter and work in confined spaces while bending, twisting, and reaching. Responsibilities: Ensure all issued equipment is in good working order and fully charged daily. Complete all assigned work precisely and in a safe and timely manner. Properly track working hours and mileage daily. Maintain the assigned Company Vehicle: Provide an initial and monthly Vehicle Inspection. Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and organized. Drive in a safe and responsible manner always. Report any maintenance or performance concerns to management promptly. Refuel Vehicle before falling under ΒΌ tank. Assigned Gas Card is kept in a secured location. If lost or stolen, Management must be notified immediately. Primary Duties: Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment. Vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified. Working in manhole systems verifying and proofing existing conduit systems. Rodding and roping conduit systems. Towing various trailers with precision. Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity. Construction and repair of overhead and underground RF and Fiber service. Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic map. Ability to climb poles and use climbing equipment safely. Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines. Familiar with GO95 and GO128 construction rules.
