On Friday February 11, 2022 my wife Ashley began to have pain in her lower abdomen. She thought it was ovulation pains or a cyst since she has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Sat the 12th it got worse. But super bowl Sunday she was completely crippled with pain. We got the ER on Monday (Valentines Day) morning. After 5 hours, a urine test and a very long ultrasound, we were told she was being admitted for a mass that was found on her ovary. The labs showed that she had an infection so they thought it could possibly be a cyst abscess. By Tuesday night her pain was so out of control and the heavy antibiotics didn't seem to be working. At 6:30 pm on Tuesday she was rushed into surgery. The dr said that the infection is severe and she was almost septic. The abscess had ruptured. What they thought was a cyst was actually a infection inside one of her Filipina tubes that spread to the entire reproductive area. The dr said the scaring in the uterus, ovaries and tubes is so extensive she will never be able to have kids. The infection was so bad and such a gooey mess that her uterus fused to her bowels. She also has a very large umbilical cord hernia that they had to push off to the side that was also attached to the bowel. as of today Thursday February 18, 2022 she isn't not doing much better. She had spiked a few fevers and her pain is out of control. She is on 3 around the clock heavy duty antibiotics and lots of pain meds. the dr is worried the antibiotics may not be working. Her white blood cell count went down from Monday but not that much. She also has had high blood pressure. we are asking for help so that I can take off work to be with her. The dr said that she won't even think about a release date at this point because it's going to be awhile. We know times are tough but I am begging to have the opportunity to be with her during this time. Thank you so much.
