The 5th Annual Fashion Show features our Dream Kids as Models, which is what makes this event so unique and special. Dreams Come True, Inc. (DCT) was founded in 1982 by J L NeSmith. Mr NeSmith organized his family and six others in Denham Springs, Louisiana and set about granting dreams to local children with life-threatening illnesses. Since its founding the organization has been a local, home grown alternative to larger organizations of much broader boundaries that provide dreams to children. To reflect this, the name was changed in 2006 to Dreams Come True of Louisiana, Inc. We started off with an all volunteer organization 1982. It wasn’t until 2010 that the first and only paid employee was hired. In 2017 a part-time employee was added and in 2019 an assistant was hired. This small administration in partnership with thousands of volunteers grants around 80 dreams every year. Our mission is to restore the beauty found in the dreams of children. We provide happiness, support and encouragement to very special children and their families as they endure hardships inherent with the struggles of facing a life-threatening illness. Dreams Come True of Louisiana is a non-profit organization that grants dreams to Louisiana children between ages 3 - 18 who has a life threatening illness.
