This workshop, Hearing Distressing Voices, was developed by Pat Deegan, PhD.
Workshop participants will learn about the subjective experience of hearing distressing voices and how to be helpful to people having that experience. While this workshop version is designed with First Responders in mind, everything reviewed would be applicable to any community member.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand Person-First Language
- Understand the difference between Hearing Voices vs. Hearing Distressing Voices
- Learn about the subjective experience of Hearing Distressing Voices
- How to be helpful as a First Responder or as an individual interacting with someone hearing distressing voices
***This course has been approved for 3 continuing education hours by ICAADA, 3 Category 1 CE's for BHHS, and 3 training hours for Indiana Law Enforcement Officers & Support Personnel.
