"Look, don't touch!" Is often said in our garden center. At this workshop, we will be touching, looking, seeing, smelling, and tasting.
Inspired by outdoor sensory gardens, we will be experiencing the greenhouse in every way possible. First, we will have our guests sit down as we go through the senses. While sitting, we will enjoy a small snack of home-grown microgreens for taste. We also have a range of herbs available to smell and taste as requested. Our sounds will be a quiet moment, followed by windchimes and water hitting the ground.
Next it is time to touch! Velvety, bumpy, smooth, soft, ticklish, feathery, sticky, and so many more. We will take a tour through our houseplant greenhouses in an orderly fashion to see all the color, hear a tree as we shake it, and touch leaves gently. All attendees will be leaving with a Sensitive Plant (Mimosa Pudica) so they can remember to be sensitive to the world around them.
Recommended age range is elementary but all are welcome!
*Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 1 ticket = 1 attendee
