PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A Park Slope driver has been arrested for speeding away after mowing down a pedestrian he left lying in the street, police announced Thursday.
David Mocete, 31, was arrested exactly one week after the crash on Fourth Avenue and Bergen Street left a 44-year-old man critically injured, police said.
Mocete, who lives near the crash site, was behind the wheel of a sedan when he rammed into the 44-year-old then drove off, police said.
Police did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment on the pedestrian's condition, but said last Friday the man remained in critical condition.
News of the Park Slope crash came after a weekend of fatal car accidents in New York City, where drivers killed four people, including a Holocaust survivor, a teenage girl and a Brooklyn mom.
