Summary: The Facilities Manager is responsible for supporting facility maintenance for the SVDP main headquarters as well as its Thrift Stores and other properties with a possible capital campaign in the future. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position shall include, but not be limited to the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the Director of Facilities & Operations • Develops and maintains facilities maintenance log that tracks requests and prioritizes projects. • Builds Community partnerships to increase access to resources and services that can help advance building and expansion projects. • Supervises Facilities Maintenance personnel with various assignments as needs arise. • Prepares new project documentation and acquires multiple contractor bids for work done by independent contractors. • Ensuring that facilities meet health, safety, and all permitting as required by authorities. • Project management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors. • Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value & quality for money spent. • Assist in planning for future developments in line with strategic business objectives. • Manage and lead projects to ensure minimum disruption to core activities. • Manage and plan essential central services such as security improvements, maintenance, cleaning, and waste disposal and recycling. • Planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organizing current buildings. • Using performance management techniques to monitor and document achievement of staff and contractors. • In conjunction with maintenance staff, respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. Requires willingness to respond during off-hours for emergencies. • Supervises employees hired to work on various maintenance projects. SVdP offers a full benefits package including paid time off.
