Description
GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City's village election is set for March 15. And residents who need to can request absentee ballots now.
In-person voting will be held at St. Paul's Field House from noon to 9 p.m. Residents will be electing four people to serve on the Board of Trustees, from seven candidates that are running.
Residents are still allowed to request absentee ballots due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can also request an absentee ballot if you are going to be out of the village on election day or have an illness that prevents you from going to the polls.
To get an absentee ballot, residents must first submit an application, which is available in both English and Spanish by clicking here. The form needs to be filled out and mailed to Village Clerk Karen Altman, 351 Stewart Ave., or dropped off to her attention at Village Hall.
Residents can also request the form by emailing the clerk at [email protected], or by calling (516) 465-4051. It will be mailed to them unless they want to come to Village Hall to pick it up.
March 8 is the last day for the clerk to receive applications for absentee ballots by mail. Applications can be dropped of at Village Hall until March 14.
The applications must be returned to the clerk, either by mail or by dropping them off at Village Hall, no latter than 9 p.m. on Election Day.
