Family Experiences For Wellness Event Coming To Greendale Schools

GREENDALE, WI — A community wellness event called Family Experiences For Wellness will bring activities and presentations to Greendale Middle School on March 3, according to a news release from the district. The wellness event will start off with a presentation by Phillip Chard, a psychotherapist, speaker, author and columnist for Shepherd Express. Chard's presentation about minimizing anxiety for the whole family will include information about how parents can support their students with easy tools and tactics, according to the news release. Chard authored "Healing Earth" and "Absolutely Out of My Mind." After the presentation, event-goers will be able to view projects about mental health and wellness that were created by Greendale Schools' 8th-grade students. Visitors will also be able to learn about resources available in the community at the event, according to the news release. Greendale Schools is hosting the event in conjunction with Community Alliance: Hales Corners and Greendale Community. The event starts at 6 p.m. at 6800 Schoolway in Greendale with Chard's presentation. Student projects can be viewed from 6:45-7:30 p.m. Visitors will also be able to meet and learn more about resources in the community such as the Greendale Public Library, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, Village Club, Greendale School Garden, Step Up to Better Health Greendale, Wehr Nature Center, Boerner Botanical Gardens, Field Workshop and Community Alliance Coalition, according to the event listing on Facebook.
