NATICK, MA — Local drivers should prepare for potentially serious traffic disruptions Thursday afternoon due to a wake for a Dover-Sherborn High School student who died over the weekend in a car crash.
According to Sherborn police, Route 27 will be completely closed to traffic between 4 and 7 p.m. for Owen Bingham's wake. The services will take place at St. Theresa Parish, 35 South Main St.
"Expect delays, seek alternate routes, and plan for additional travel time. Proper signage will be posted throughout town and officers will be stationed in the area to assist with traffic," Sherborn police said.
Bingham, 18, a Dover resident, died early Saturday morning while driving along Walpole Street in Dover. Bingham drove off the road and hit a guardrail and a tree. Four other passengers in the vehicle survived with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
A funeral for Bingham will take place Friday morning at The Church of The Most Precious Blood in Dover.
