Introduction to basic yoga postures/poses in a way that is meant to be safe, supportive, and accessible for all body types.
This 90-minute lesson will offer plenty of support around incorporating different modifications to poses, as well as utilizing various types of props/equipment, in order to make postures more accessible and accommodate for people who may be in the newcomer or beginner phase of their journey into yoga.
For experienced practitioners, this offering will serve as a reminder about the profundity and depth available (to even the most practiced yogis) when it comes to exploring basic/foundational poses and other aspects of the practice.
You may bring your own yoga mat, or there are mats at the studio available for use. All other equipment is provided.
Please dress comfortably, avoid eating anything for at least 90 minutes prior to class, and especially avoid any heavy meals for at least 3 hours leading up to the session.
Regular attendance is meant to equip you with all the tools necessary to begin exploring your own yoga practice at home.
Located at the Center for Iyengar Yoga at 1204 E Eleven Mile Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48067. Plenty of on-site parking is available for free. Please use the doorway/entrance facing the parking lot (rather than the one facing 11 Mile rd).
