MIDDLETOWN, CT — Two men were arrested on gun charges after a traffic stop involving a stolen vehicle Monday in Middletown, according to police.
Detectives from the Middletown Police Street Crime Unit were conducting surveillance in connection with an ongoing drug investigation when they pulled over a vehicle related to the investigation, police said.
Police learned before the stop that the vehicle was reported stolen.
The driver was identified as Sean Arcari, 38, of South Windsor, and Joselito Rosario, 26, of Rocky Hill, was identified as the passenger, according to police.
Police searched the vehicle and found a "Glock style facsimile firearm, an unregistered Beretta .25 caliber handgun containing seven live rounds, a soft handgun holster, and an amount of schedule 4 narcotics in the vehicle," according to a news release.
Neither Arcari nor Rosario had permits to carry firearms and both were arrested, police said.
Arcari was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of weapon in a motor vehicle, and possession of narcotics. He was additionally charged with third-degree for driving the stolen motor vehicle, according to police. He was held in lieu of bonds totaling $300,000.
Rosario was charged with criminal possession of a firearm. He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
