The City of Bowie is seeking applicants for the position Transportation Supervisor or Assistant Transportation Supervisor with the Senior Services Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising part-time CDL qualified Bus Drivers, as well as providing scheduled transportation services to clients aged 55 and older and disabled citizens of the City of Bowie. Job Functions: Creates and maintains client database for purpose of scheduling demand response transportation services on a daily basis.Coordinates and gathers bus inspection and reports and schedules bus maintenance and repairs with Public Works.Collects, counts, and deposits bus fees.Meets with bus drivers to update information effecting schedule and clients.Conducts driver safety meeting and transportation strategic plans.Coordinates with driver’s trip schedules for Senior Center and City of Bowie Events.Maintains Bus Driver database for scheduling time.Documents time and attendance records for bus drivers.Dispatches and radio base contact with drivers on road.Maintains database for vehicle usage.Schedules and follow-ups in state authorized inspections of vehicles.Responds to vehicle accidents and documents accident scenes and follow up.Performs other related duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Transportation Supervisor Associates Degree Two years of relevant supervisory experience. Strong computer and communication Excellent customer service skill and experience with senior adults and the public Certain combinations of relevant experience or training may be acceptable. Assistant Transportation Supervisor High school diploma Some demonstrable supervisory experience. Strong computer and communication Excellent customer service skill and experience with senior adults and the public Preferred Qualifications: CDL with P endorsement Experience operating small buses Experience working with senior adult populations *COVID-19 vaccination required in order to qualify for this position Salary: Transportation Supervisor: $27.46 per hour Asst.
