Description
Job Summary: Responsible for cleaning and servicing building areas; moving furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the facility departments; and performing a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition, according to established procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to follow instructions and operate or learn how to operate all equipment used in the department within a one-month training period. Requires the physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and equipment. Must be able to lift wet vacuums weighing 75 pounds and push a cart weighing 200 pounds. Must be able to interact with medical staff, Nursing, residents, visitors and other facility personnel. Works with coworkers, supervisors and staff from other departments to solve problems and to improve processes and services. Adjusts priorities to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Reports problems related to safety, cleanliness and comfort of resident and work areas. Standard precautions and infection control techniques are followed. Adheres and follows OSHA standards, including use of PPE. Applies facility safety plans and procedures related to fire, weather and other disasters. Focuses on work results in quality service and performance. Identifies and discusses with the supervisor and other appropriate staff members, ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality. Works to improve job skills, knowledge and performance. Follows established personnel, department and facility policies. Attends mandatory educational programs identified by the facility. Accepts changes in schedule and work assignments. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
