By John Gibson, WNIN February 17, 2022 Ivy Tech says it will continue to cover the cost of textbooks next fall. WNIN's John Gibson has details: The community college's president, Sue Ellspermann, says the school will provide required textbooks for eligible students in the 2022-23 academic year. It's the second year books will be provided at no cost to students through the college's Ivy+ initiative. Ivy Tech says more than 55,000 students received free textbooks last fall and more than 47,000 students have taken advantage of similar savings this spring. As for tuition, Ivy Tech says when students take at least 12 credit hours a semester, they pay a flat rate and can add additional credit hours at no additional cost. As part of the Ivy+ program, part-time students will see their tuition frozen in 2022-23 at the same rate as the previous academic year. The school says it offers the lowest per-credit-hour fee in Indiana. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
