ISO small breed dog or pup

I am ISO of free or very inexpensive female puppy or dog. I am retired and I am almost always at home. I have been looking for a small dog for three years, since my son was killed by a hit and run driver, I so want one for companionship. I'm on a fixed income, so I have not been able to find one online anywhere or at the shelters. Even the shelters ask hundreds these days, and they mostly have big breeds that I can not handle. If you have a puppy or an older dog that is a small breed and needs lots of love and attention, please consider letting me have it to shower all my love on.
