Description

SALEM, NH — The Supervisors of the Checklist of Salem will host a session from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, for the purpose of registering new voters before the March 8 town election. According to officials, registered voters can make changes or corrections to their existing data or switch party affiliations at this session. "This will be the last opportunity for a resident of Salem to register to vote if he/she wants their name to appear on the checklist that will be used for town election on Tuesday, March 8, 2022," Kelly Anne Dortona said. "New Hampshire election law does, however, allow a person to register to vote at the polls if they present the required documentation." A picture ID and proof of domicile are required. A drivers' license is acceptable. Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers. Residents can register to vote with the town clerk at the town hall during regular business hours through Feb. 25. Copies of the current voter checklist are available to view at the Kelley Library reference desk and at the town clerk's office. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
