MOORESVILLE, NC — It's been a tough year for Mooresville businesses, as well as others around the state and country. The coronavirus pandemic presented enormous challenges for most, from the stay-home orders in the spring to restrictions and other hurdles from fall into winter. To recognize all their efforts, Patch asked readers to nominate Local Businesses of the Year, whether it was the restaurant that made special accommodations for takeout, the shop that opened early, the pizzeria that went out of its way to deliver, the hardware store owner that offered invaluable advice or something else. These nominations are not an official award, but simply recognition of a job well done. Here are some of the nominations Patch has received in Mooresville, and the reason why they should be honored: Alino's & Pho Me (Langtree): Both provide excellent service, delicious food options, and elevate cuisine in Mooresville. Bruster's Ice Cream: Great fresh made ice cream and terrific service.Pinkies on Main: The owner Jill Bieber is dedicated to the health and safety of the technicians and clients. Pinkies was able to apply proper social distancing and other COVID-19 health precautions. Dogs by Andy K9 Services: Excellent service, extremely knowledgeable in his craft. Not only donating to many organizations but also offering Veteran and hero discounts to military, Vets, police, fire, and rescue, but also providing free service to those who have served. Pisces Sushi: Primarily, they have wonderful sushi. Additionally, we have always had courteous and knowledgeable servers. Since restaurants have been able to open their dining areas, I always see employees with masks and they enforce their policy of customers wearing masks if they are out of their chairs. My husband and I always enjoy ourselves immensely and feel safe dining here. Main Street Jeweler: The quality of their work is always excellent and done in a timely manner. They have a great atmosphere with very friendly staff. They always remember you and treat you like family. You always feel welcome! And then Sue's (the owner) welcoming personality makes you linger and form a bond we all need now more than ever.Joe Fish Casual Seafood: You will not find a better staff in Mooresville! They are the friendliest, most accommodating group of people! They are fastidious in their cleanliness and COVID-19 policies, it is one of the very few restaurants I will eat in at this time. Food is always fantastic, it's fresh and creative. They have an outstanding wine selection and the best bartender in the area!AmoCafe: AmoCafe is beyond just a place to get a cup of coffee. They are unbelievable knowledgeable about their coffees and it's an experience just watching them prepare your beverage in various ways. Whether it's a latte, or siphon coffee, you can see the care they put into preparing a special cup of coffee specifically for you. They are really nice people and it's a great place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Lake Norman Butchery: Above and beyond in customer service, in following Covid protocol, in having exceptional quality meat, seafood, frozen meals, and much more. The best part is that their products are affordable and priced well. They will go out of their way to order what you need, or make a special request if they can. Call ahead for pickup or enjoy a real butcher shop experience! Clutch Coffee: BEST coffee in the area bar none! They're pizza and menu items are the closest to a "corner pizza shop" you'd find back in the Northeast (New York style crust) LaPatisserie: They have gone over and above to adapt and service Mooresville at both locations. If you follow them on Instagram or Facebook you know of many ways they adapted by offering more than just their menu items, such as creating take and bake kits, DIY cupcake decorating kits, their wonderful salsas you could now purchase by the jar. They maintain high covid protocol whether you dine in, outside, or select curbside pick up or delivery. They not only have delicious baked goods and bistro dining, but the friendliest, genuine customer service here in town. Treadz: They are a small car repair shop that listen to their clients. They are honest and caring. Ain't Miss Beadhaven: Gem of Downtown Mooresville. Amazing Bead and Jewelry shop with something for Everyone.
