MEKLENBURG COUNTY, NC — The Mecklenburg Board Of County Commissioners has decided to appoint someone new to replace Commissioner Ella Scarborough while she battles a medical illness. The move will be temporary while she's on leave, but a process is underway to select someone to represent her constituents in her absence. North Carolina General Statutes (NCGS) § 128-40 is the statue that allows them to appoint a temporary replacement, which starts with an application period beginning Thursday.
