WINCHESTER, MA — Police are looking for a man who they say attacked a woman after an argument in Winchester Wednesday.
Troopers responded to the scene at Spot Pond around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports that a woman had been assaulted.
Police say the 49-year-old woman from Woburn was walking her dogs in the reservation when she got into an argument with a man over her dogs.
The unidentified man hit the woman in the face at least once near the land bridge, Dave Procopio, a spokesman for the Massachusetts State police said.
The man continued on the path after striking her while a Good Samaritan came over to assist the woman out of the woods, Procopio added.
Police say the woman refused medical attention at the scene but told them she would seek medical attention on her own.
Troopers are looking for a white man in his 40s or 50s with salt-and-pepper hair and an average height and build who may have been jogging at the time.
Police do not have an image of the suspect yet but told Patch they will release one if they get one.
No additional information was immediately available.
