Description
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A 40-year-old Statesville woman was recently arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said.
According to ICSO, deputies first learned of the allegations when they received an Aug. 7 report of a possible sexual assault on a minor committed by an acquaintance.
Deputies responded to the scene at the southwestern Iredell County location and while they were there, took Hillary Jean Griffin, 40, of Whistling Pines Drive in Statesville into custody. She was charged with resist, obstruct and delay, and after she was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, was issued a $1,000 bond.
The sheriff's office continued the investigation into the sexual assault allegation, and based on evidence gathered, obtained an arrest warrant this month for Griffin, ICSO said.
Griffin was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with felony indecent liberties with a minor. She was issued a $20,000 bond on the charges, ICSO said.
