Cold Weather Drive Collecting Hats, Socks For Iredell Children

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Winter is coming, and one Iredell County organization is collecting hats, gloves and socks to make sure no child in the county goes cold this season. The Iredell County Safe Kids Coalition is hosting a cold weather drive through Dec. 13, collecting winter weather items at five locations throughout the county. "Before the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of Americans were living in poverty and struggling to pay their bills," the organization said in a statement. "As the pandemic continues, the need for other essentials this fall and winter will be greater than ever before in Iredell County." The organization said the following items are needed: New children's hats New gloves New socks "Everything we collect win our community will be distributed in our community in order to help children stay safe and warm this winter," the organization said. Here's where items may be donated: Iredell County Health Department, 318 Turnersburg Highway, Statesville Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, 734 Salisbury Road, Statesville Iredell County Public Library, 201 N. Tradd Street, Statesville Mooresville Police Department, 750 W. Iredell Avenue, Mooresville Troutman Town Hall, 400 N.
