MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man won a $4 million lottery prize after buying a winning ticket at Food Lion on River Highway, North Carolina Education Lottery officials announced Wednesday. According to NCEL, Kenneth Stewart won the big prize after buying a $20 "Ruby Red 7s" game. Stewart claimed a lump sum payout of the $4 million prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh Tuesday. "He had the choice of taking the $4 million as an annuity of $200,000 a year for 20 years or a lump sum of $2.4 million," NCEL said in a statement. "He chose the lump sum and, after federal and state tax withholdings, took home $1,698,006." The win is the second big lottery prize won by a Mooresville resident this week.
