Facilities Maintenance Technician The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of building. Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following: • Maintains the safety and upkeep of the building • Works with outside vendors as necessary • Works with the production manager and engineer on various machine maintenance and repairs Grounds Maintenance: • Parking Lots/Sidewalks kept clean and clear of debris, snow and ice (outside of plow and landscaping vendor) • Inspect and maintain signs on the property • General, regular inspection of outside property and noted repair needs Building Maintenance Interior include but not limited to: • General repairs throughout building o basic plumbing, electric o drywall, paint, carpentry, cabinets, door and lock repair o Tracking all building keys • General Maintenance and Safety: o CO2 & smoke detector batteries o Regular inspection of fire extinguishers o Exits free & clear • HVAC o filters, grills, belts o track maintenance, repairs and inspections • Assisting in the creation of preventable maintenance and repair schedule • Responds to emergencies related to the facilities and grounds o Answering all emergency calls and responding in a timely manner o 24/7 on call as first responder for all emergencies • Completes errands associated with job duties as directed Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge in the various building trades including janitorial, electrical, plumbing, drywall, HVAC, and carpentry • Minimum of three years of experience with facility maintenance and safety requirements • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, controls, motors, overhead doors, dock levelers, 3 phase power, air compressors and trash compactors preferred • Knowledge of and ability to operate miscellaneous hand tools, power tools and large equipment such as lawn maintenance equipment, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, fork lifts, etc • Good oral and written communication skills • Good organizational skills • Ability to work independently and multi-task • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS products (Word and Excel) is preferred • Ability to push/lift 75 pounds • Ability to climb ladders • Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require • Ability to work in the outdoor elements • Working around solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, etc. • High school or equivalent, College degree or certificates Preferred • Mechanical knowledge: minimum 1 year Hourly rate is based on experience Full-time with benefits: • Dental, Vision and Health insurance • Company paid Life insurance • Retirement plan • 4-½ day work week • Paid time off
