Seeking Talented Rhythm

Description

Seeking talented musicians...specifically a bassist and drummer...who are willing to join forces to write, record and perform original music and possibly some covers here and there. I am a 37 y/o guitar player of over 25 years who can't go a day of not playing without getting cranky. Aside from the guitar playing side of me....I am also a certified engineer who works at a recording studio in the Buffalo area. Listing influences would be pointless seeing how I literally like playing all genres and all forms of music. I have a couple great vocalists I am working with but really wanna establish a tight band of reliable players who can not only play all kinds of music but actually like the challenge of mixing up styles and so forth. Whether it be recording for potential clients that cross my path in the studio environment or performing live...I wanna find players who just wanna play music for no other reason than the pure love of it. This shouldn't be money driven or motivated by one's unrealistic idea of being a rock star. People can tell the difference between those who simply just wanna live out their ridiculous fantasy of being the next big rock star...and...those who take their craft seriously and whether they are on stage in front of tons of people or in their bedroom would be playing regardless. Having a general knowledge of theory (at the very least) is preferred. I'd like for us to be able to play worked out songs and arrangements as well as extended improvised jams where we can pick a key and tempo and basically see each other on the "other side". lol. When I say I like all genres I literally mean from the softest acoustic singer song writer tunes to the most progressive rock/metal tunes and everything in between...depending on what mood we are in, what the situation calls for or possibly in the case of the recording studio...what is asked of us. For some I understand having some sort of basic direction stylistically is important but great bands are the sum of all their parts...meaning...upon getting together...our years of playing and all of our musical backgrounds and influences will determine what direction we go after jamming a while. The music will just tell us where to go. I have a rehearsal space at my house equipped with amps, a PA, decent drums and various other equipment as well as recording capabilities such as Pro Tools. Also...as stated before...I work at a recording studio so therefore one of the perks is having access to it for recording. This may seem like a long winded post but unlike some of these 2 sentence vague posts I see, I feel it's necessary to be very specific and not waste anyone's time. I am not seeking out fame and fortune....but....all that should be a by-product of musicians who take their art seriously and are just damn good at what they do. If you're good enough...all that will seek you out!! Thank you all for your consideration!
