Northeastern Kansas Beekeepers Association is hosting an educational event for those beekeepers that are beginning their 2nd year or more of beekeeping. If you need inspiration, updated on the latest honey bee health issues, or would like to learn more, this event could be what you need. Topics covered include Why Hives Die, Swarm Biology, Wax Rendering, Honey Extraction, Identifying Food Sources for Honey Bees, Hive Stressors and IPM, and the Business Side of Beekeeping. This event will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, Saturday, Feb. 26, 9 am-5:30 pm. The cost is $35 and includes lunch. To learn more and register go to www.nekba.org.
