Description
Angel is a Lacewing (aka Silky) Ringneck Dove. I purchased him as a youngster six months ago at a bird show, thinking he was a female. As he's matured it has become clear that he is actually a male. Sadly, I can't have another male in my flock due to the fighting that takes place between males.
Lacewing/Silky doves have a different feather structure from ordinary doves. This gives their feathers a lacy appearance. It also renders them flightless. They tend to have a more docile temperament than ordinary feathered doves, and are essentially naturally hand-tame.
I am looking for a new home for Angel. The ideal placement would be with a female dove as a companion, but he would also thrive in a home where he would be a companion for a loving human. Be aware that male doves are quite vocal, cooing frequently during daylight hours (they are quiet at night).
I am asking a small re-homing fee of $25 for Angel, to assure he goes to a caring home.
