Description
2 year old heelerXmini Aussie mix. She is a happy, yet timid dog. Can sit, shake, lay down, when not overwhelmed has decent recall. Loves kids and as far as I can tell doesn't have a bad bone in her body. She's just.... dumb. Enjoys being around humans and animals. I have a 9 and 11 year old. Loves to sit on the couch and watch TV or play with them. She wants to hang out with my cat but my cat will not accept her. She is a small/medium size dog. Her weight is about 35lbs. Shes about 19" tall from foot to shoulder, 22" from collar to tail, give or take a few inches. She has been with us about a month. Unfortunately, she is in need of much more extensive care and training than what I can provide. Had I known that prior to seeing her I wouldn't have gotten her. I wasn't looking for this amount of work. I also live in an apartment so I can't just let her go all the time. Although she does love to be outside if she is off leash. When we showed up to get her she was TERRIFIED of her owner and we could see all of her ribs and hip bones even through her thick fur. She was trying to get as far away from him as she could. When he went to say goodbye her whole body tensed and sucked up. I knew I couldn't leave her. I decided there I would at least try. I knew coming with me was better, even if I didn't give her a permanent home. So, I paid the 200$ and left. Even after he told us the following. She is NOT apartment potty trained. Maybe if she had unlimited access ie a doggy door she might do well? No promises. She chews things. That's all I need to say about that lol Leash training is going well but if we miss more than a day or so there are setbacks. We mostly going on long slow walks where I allow her to smell anything she wants for an hour or so. I only want someone who has the ability to train her properly to message me. I will be asking questions about your life to see if I feel you are a good fit. This dog is a pain in my ass but she is a GOOD dog and I will not allow her to be passed to another home that won't train her properly just to pass her off again. I don't care if I have to wait a long time.
